Facilities

         Solar Energy Institute Laboratory Infrastructure

         Related units and laboratories in our Institute are:

  • Solar Thermal: pilot scale parabolic thermal collector, solar thermal heating system

  • Solar Architecture: Trombe wall system, solar energy aided space heating system, natural lighting laboratory

  • Photovoltaics: lamination and PV cells laboratory, pilot applications, battery and generator rooms

  • Photochemistry and Optoelectronics: photochemistry laboratories, material testing and analysis laboratories, distillation laboratories, nanotechnology laboratories

  • Wind Energy: pilot scale wind turbines, wind measurement devices

  • Geothermal Energy: heat transfer laboratory, ground heat pump for greenhouse applications

  • Biomass: test and analysis laboratories, pilot scale applications

  • Biorefinery and Composite Materials: hydrothermal carbonization system, liquid hot water system, vacuum infusion equipment

  • Meteorology Unit: wind, radiation, temperature, humidity and pressure measurements  

        In addition to the opportunities provided by the institute, collaborations with other departments of Ege University such as Faculty of Bioengineering, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Central Research Test and Analysis Laboratory Application and Research Center (Ege Matal) enables us researchers to extend our research fields. In accordance with potential research collaborations these resources can also be evaluated.
