Melih Soner Celiktas is a Professor at Ege University of Solar Energy Institute in Izmir, Turkey. Dr. Celiktas is an active lecturer and researcher in energy technology (including renewable energy, energy conversion, biorefinery, and hydrogen technologies), sustainable energy and energy policy. 

His principal research interests lie in the field of biorefinery approaches, biobased economy and smart energy. He is currently investigating the biorefinery systems such as Physico-chemical pretreatment (Liquid Hot Water, Sub and supercritical treatments etc.), bioconversion of renewable lignocellulosic biomass to biofuel and value-added products using the latest conversion techniques and analysis. Additionaly, he is interested in technology foresight and future projections.
