ABSTRACT

The upcoming new industrial revolution will be triggered by the internet, which allows communication between humans as well as machines in Cyber Physical Systems throughout large networks. In this study, transition to new industrial revolution and its engineering pathways in the pioneering developed countries is investigated by comparing each other road maps. Industry 4.0 means fourth industrial revolution, and this term was firstly announced at the Hannover Fair in 2011. In 2012, German Government constituted a working group for Industry 4.0 Project. This Working group published their final report about Industry 4.0. In this paper, the basic approaches and criteria of Industry 4.0 and future expectation of engineering approaches will be mentioned generally.
